How is your brand perceived?
There is real power in perceived value. Your branding can make a huge difference in the way people perceive the quality of your products and services. The better and more consistent the brand the more value your business presents. You know the old wine trick, right? Where they take an inexpensive wine and put it in an expensive bottle. Then they have people test both bottles and people rank the ‘expensive’ bottle as better quality, better tasting wine, even though they are the exact same wine. What does that mean for you and your brand? Well, it means the perception is part of the value of your brand.
If you create a luxurious professional-looking brand clients will believe you offer a luxurious product or service, regardless of the actual value. That is good news and bad news. This does not let you off the hook in producing a high-end quality product or service. If you don’t actually perform up to expectations you will trash all the brand equity you have earned with that client.
We’ve all made that one midnight purchase from the internet, it looks soooo nice and once it finally arrived it was not the quality you were expecting. HA, and you can’t return it because it came all the way from the other side of the world to you! Ok maybe it was just me, but the cut, color, and fabric did not match the image in my head and or on the screen at all. Once this happens you have burned the bridge. Every time I feel my finger moving towards that Paypal button I check to see where it is shipping from. Burned once, I will not make that mistake again.
