Help! Not just anybody…
We can all use a little help right? Help around the house, help with dinner, help with all this crazy social media stuff!!!! Eiiik! These guys said it best…you know who I mean, John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Help was released on Aug 6, 1965, and the internet started in the 1960s. Help has surely been needed this whole time! The official birthday of the internet is considered January 1, 1983, where all networks were now connected by a universal language.
So whether you were around in 1960 or arrived in the early ’80s this crazy internet thing has been around. The first recognizable social media site, Six Degrees, was created in 1997. It enabled users to upload a profile and make friends with other users. In 1999, the first blogging sites became popular, creating a social media sensation. If you think of it, we’ve had only about 20 years of social media! Compare that to films, the first moving pictures happened in December 1895 in Paris. The 1930s brought in sound, color along with TV, and fast forward to now, we have VR (virtual reality). Think about the internet 100 years from now. How do you think businesses will work? (can you tell I am a history nerd?)
Now that I overwhelmed you with a lot of history, and how fast things grow and change, you could use a little help, right? I highly suggest/recommend getting a VA (virtual assistant). As with getting a brand photo session this too is the best money I’ve ever spend on my biz. Creating content is time-consuming enough, having an extra right hand to get the content blasted out to the internet is as good as having help around the house, or a chef cooking you dinner! Finding, choosing, and collaborating with a VA is an art form. We will have a live VA, Kristie Smith, (I guess that makes her not virtual) giving the tips, tricks, and foibles all around the VA subject at the TrueSelf Branding Day Retreat at The Addison on Aug 20th.
